Smashburger Tacos

Method

  1. Mix the burger sauce ingredients and refrigerate while you prepare the other ingredients.

  2. Chop the lettuce and tomatoes and prepare any other toppings.

  3. Press each ball of ground beef onto a tortilla in a very thin, even layer. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  4. Heat a pan over high heat. Place a tortilla in the pan beef-side down and press with a spatula to keep the meat thin. Sear for 3-4 minutes, then flip and brown the tortilla side, making sure the beef is cooked through.

  5. Add a slice of cheddar and cover briefly to melt it.

  6. Top with the burger sauce and vegetables, then serve. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.

Alexa's notes

Makes six tacos. Keep the beef layer thin and even so it cooks consistently across the tortilla.
